Lana Mesic work centres on the exploration of photography as a construct, and the boundaries between reality and illusion. She is a storyteller, collector, a thinker and a doer. Her process begins with a healthy dose curiosity and a question.
Employing references from a wide variety of sources such as literature, psychoanalysis, occultism, magic and the metaphysical, Mesic has built up a mysterious, iconic vocabulary that gives rise to allusive, ambiguous and intriguing narratives that manifest themselves in photography, text and installation.
She wants to allow her audience to be witnesses to the impossible and believe in the irrational. In her hands the camera lens allow you to “see” the invisible and suspend disbelief in the wholly unbelievable.
